With a roadmap in place from the Government to release us from lockdown and the vaccine programme progressing well, we are delighted to confirm that the ASCP conference, exhibition and Awards ceremony will take place on Thursday September 23 & Friday 24 September 2021, when all social restrictions should have been lifted.

The schedule is now as follows:

  • Venue: Telford international Centre
  • Conference: Thurs 23rd & Fri 24th September
  • ASCP Safety & Compliance Awards: Evening of Thurs 23rd Sept

We feel this is the right time for this event:

  • – The likelihood is we will be clear of lockdown measures.
  • – Many attendees will have received their first vaccine and some possibly their second.
  • – And to go one step further, to give you all a little further reassurance, we will be issuing COVID tests to all event goers

Your safety is paramount to us. We will therefore put in place a number of measures as below. We feel these will add to your safety but not impact the atmosphere and content of the event.

  • – Everyone attending the event will be asked to perform a simple COVID test before they arrive onsite. The tests will be supplied before the event to all delegates, speakers, exhibitors and staff. The lateral flow tests give clear results within 15 minutes
  • – We will have exclusive use of the pre-conference event and Awards venues
  • – The conference programme will be staggered
  • – Greater spacing in the Exhibition hall, with open doors and windows to increase airflow
  • – Breaks and lunch will be staggered, with multiple serving points to eliminate queues
  • – No onsite registration – badges will be posted ahead of the event
  • – Increased spacing at the Awards ceremony, making use of the large capacity of the room

We hope this information assures you that this event will run as near normal as possible, whilst considering the safety of delegates, speakers, exhibitors and both our staff and the venue staff.

This May sees the return of ASCP’s annual conference, exhibition and Awards ceremony – the unmissable event dedicated to supporting safety and compliance professionals within the social housing and facilities management sector.

The two-day event, taking place on the 20th and 21st of May and hosted at the prestigious Celtic Manor in Newport, will incorporate the AGSM National Conference and AESM LIVE, with over 600 attendees expected to walk through the doors. The event will also host the annual ASCP Safety and Compliance Awards. Rewarding individuals & organisations who go the extra mile, finalists will attend a gala awards evening on the 20th May.

Bringing together 65 key suppliers in the exhibition hall across the two days and a host of safety and compliance professionals, this year’s line-up of expert speakers is set to include a whole host of inspiring talks – with over 20 experts confirmed.

Heading up the event is keynote speaker Jon Butterworth MBE, Chief Operating Officer at National Grid Plc. Within his talk ‘Energy’s Role in The Carbon Revolution’ Jon will bring to life the challenges faced by Great Britain to keep the lights on to 62 million people, yet manage the demands of a Global Rebellion against any form of carbon.

Joining Jon is inspirational speaker Terry Waite, with his talk entitled ‘Surviving the Impossible’. Spending a staggering 1,760 days in captivity, Terry’s spirited story of hardship and humour is set to be a key highlight of the conference and exhibition.

Other fascinating topics include ‘Compliance and Leadership: Reflections post Grenfell’ – presented by Gill Kernick, Strategic Consultant, Editor & Author of ‘The Grenfell Enquirer’. As a former resident of the tower, Gill will reflect on what Grenfell has to teach us about compliance, risk and leadership.

The event will also be attended by Luke Osbourne, Energy & Emerging Technologies Solutions Advisor at ECA, who will be discussing ‘The rise of the ‘Prosumer’ and the potential implications for UK legislation and Karen Jones – a Barrister at Bond Solon; could survive a cross– examination in the dock? Watch this courtroom drama unfold before your eyes.

As well as keynote speakers, attendees will gain invaluable access to thought provoking technical insights from some of the leading voices across the various sectors – including Mark Coles, Head of Technical Regulations at IET, Professor Roger Willey, Managing Director at ACS Risk and Mark Duffy, Technical Safety Manager at CORGI Technical Services.

Talks include a focus on how to deliver the benefits of introducing 36a and the key lessons learnt, achieving gas compliance, the importance of training your team, as well as discussions around the handling of fire, asbestos and legionella safety and compliance issues.

The event also includes a dedicated working lunch session for ASCP’s Women in Compliance, an association dedicated to empowering women working within the safety and compliance sector. Professional Coach Stephanie Smith will lead the group through handling difficult conversations, the theme for this session. Anne Hinchey, Group Chief Executive of Wales & West Housing will also inspire the group with discussions around climbing the career ladder.

The ASCP provides a wide range of professional membership services and benefits to people responsible for managing wider safety and compliance issues across the social housing and facilities management sector, with its organisation incorporating the Association of Gas Safety Managers (AGSM) and the Association of Electrical Safety Managers (AESM), in partnership with CORGI Technical Services.

Standard day ticket prices across the two days are £266 for members or £398 for non -members. Tickets can be purchased through the ASCP website, via email or by calling 01256 548 040.

Book before the 28th February and receive an early bird discount – two-day ticket price is £239.40 for members or £358.20 for non-members.
